The Role:
Teach engaging and differentiated English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with KS5 options in some schools)
Foster a classroom culture that promotes reading for pleasure, confident communication, and analytical thinking
Deliver a rich curriculum covering both traditional and modern texts, creative writing, and exam preparation
Track student progress and use data to inform teaching and interventions
Contribute to the development of schemes of work, assessments, and extracurricular initiatives such as book clubs or writing competitions
Collaborate with colleagues across the department to share resources and continuously improve outcomes
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with a specialism in English Language and/or Literature
A genuine passion for your subject and a creative approach to teaching
High standards for behaviour, achievement, and engagement
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt lessons to suit all learners
Excellent interpersonal skills and a reflective, growth-oriented mindset
Open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) - structured support and mentoring provided
