The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday, 8:30- 4:30pm, Backshifts, Evening Shifts, Weekends, Public Holidays, Unsocial Hours

A number of exciting vacancies have arisen for Specialist Community Practice Teacher/Assessor within Glasgow City HSCP supporting a multitude of post registration students within the HSCP. These students range from Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) in Advancing Practice in District Nursing programmes and Integrated Community Nursing programmes, alongside supporting individual staff undertaking various modules including V300 Non-Medical Prescribing and Advanced Clinical Assessment and Decision Making at Masters level. One of the key roles of these posts involve the assessment and supervision of students in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) ‘Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment’ (NMC, 2018).

The primary focus of the CPT / Assessor will be to provide their clinical experience and the expertise necessary to support the SPQ students to meet the educational objectives of the SPQ APDN Programme. They will guide and teach DN students and practice supervisors throughout the students practice placements as well as make an assessment of the student’s competence to practice as a SPQ District Nurse by the end of the programme. Following successful completion of the SPQ APDN Programme, the CPT / Assessor will provide 12 months of preceptorship to newly qualified District Nurses to facilitate a smooth period of transition into the new roles.

Each CPT / Assessor is allocated 1 day per week for CPT / Assessor duties whereby they are expected to meet with students, review progress, undertake clinical support and supervision of students and undertake any other CPT / Assessor related duties such as workplan updates, as directed by the Lead Nurse.
