Role Overview
The post-holder will be responsible for providing high-level operational leadership and planning, ensuring safe, high quality and efficient delivery of the day-to-day operational management of the Trust, which meets the needs of patients, achieves set and agreed standards and financial targets. The role will work with the Care Groups and Corporate teams to ensure the delivery of the National Access standards and other key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
* Trust Operations, Planning and Performance
* Daily operational oversight of all sites
* Lead the Site Operations team
* Lead the Integrated Discharge Function
* Develop constructive relationships with local and national bodies
* Deliver key operational standards in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer
Opportunity and Context
This is an exciting Deputy Executive role within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, created to support the expansion of our new National Rehabilitation Centre, the rollout of Nerve Centre as a new electronic patient record system, and a major programme of transformational change in outpatient and administration services.
Due to forthcoming maternity leave, we are looking for an experienced operational leader who can step into a Deputy Executive role and bring fresh perspectives while maintaining continuity of service.

What We’re Looking For
You may already be leading a large care group or in a Deputy COO role, and you are seeking experience within a different organisation. You should be a motivated self‑starter, able to work well within a supportive team and able to collaborate with two experienced Deputy COOs to cover the agendas of planned and urgent care, as well as key strategic projects.
Preferred Qualifications
* Senior operational leadership experience within the NHS
* Experience leading a large care group or Deputy COO role
* Strong operational planning and performance management skills
