About The Role
The Subway has been modernised twice in its history, most recently as part of a £288m transformational project to become one of the most advanced systems in Europe. As the new train fleet arrives, we need a Technical Craftsperson – Line to carry out diagnostics, repairs, and planned maintenance on electrical equipment, power and automated signalling/control systems to support the ongoing delivery of the Subway maintenance. This role is a safety‑critical position that works across all areas of the system and assists at engineering incidents as required.
About You
You will have experience as a time‑served technician in a recognised electrical or multi‑skilled engineering discipline, with first‑hand experience preferably in an automated maintenance environment where fault finding is critical. Experience working in a safety‑critical environment is essential. Experience in main‑line signalling is desirable but a positive collaborative attitude and flexibility in a multi‑disciplinary team are more important. Good communication skills are essential to maintain accurate data on the asset management system, a key component in driving reliability.
