Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse seeking to undertake an interesting and highly rewarding clinical leadership role. The Special Needs School Nursing Team provides support to children and young people in 14 schools across Pennine, Central and West Lancashire. The team focuses on children with additional and/or complex medical needs, offering support, advice, education and training to school staff, families and other health providers to ensure health needs are met.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and day‑to‑day management of 24 Senior Nurses, Nurses, Health Care Support Workers and Admin staff.
* Coordinate resources to deliver a range of care to children and young people; coproduce with families and Education staff to enable attendance at school.
* Deliver a high‑quality, evidence‑based service with clinical care pathways using available resources safely and effectively.
* Maintain clinical governance, quality improvement and performance management within the team; provide supervision and ensure continuing professional development opportunities for staff.
* Participate in relevant clinical networks across the Northwest; provide expert information and guidance on complex nursing needs and trends.
* Collaborate with the CYP Additional & Complex Needs Service Manager, Clinical Nurse Business Manager, Modern Matron and other Nurse Team Leaders to ensure clinical development and governance across teams.
* Support staff development through induction plans and tailored personal development plans as required.
* Travel between community settings across Lancashire; be a car driver/owner or have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
