In this position you are supporting the maintenance and repair of our conveyor and building technology as well as production systems in our logistics center. Together with the technical team, you will ensure high availability of the technical systems through a high degree of initiative and the necessary technical know-how.

Key job responsibilities
- Performing preventive maintenance checks on a variety of equipment
- Replacement of spare parts on equipment following standard operation procedures (site dependent).
- Use of laptop/tablet for managing work orders
- Use of basic workshop tools.

A day in the life
The focus of this role is to perform basic maintenance activities on a variety of equipment across the site. This will include machinery inspection, parts replacement according to maintenance manuals and testing, whilst following safety regulations and policies.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon.
From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or tech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- The Right Candidate has strong communication skills, demonstrates a great sense of ownership, leads by example in all areas of performance and has the ability to develop subject matter expertise in all operations processes. You will also have a learn and be curious mindset, whilst being bias for action driven. You will need to be able to work with data, motivate employees to achieve the best, but most importantly have the ability to keep the customer at the heart of every decision you make.
