Senior Learning & Development Trainer


Join our growing Learning & Development team. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Learning & Development Trainer to join our growing Learning & Development team. This role combines hands-on training delivery with a strategic remit—supporting the design and co-ordination of learning initiatives that enable colleagues to develop confidence, capability and clarity at every stage of their career.


As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of our learning programmes while also supporting the operational planning and oversight of the team’s activities. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to assess training needs, shape learning pathways, and ensure that content is relevant, inclusive, and aligned with our culture and objectives.

Key responsibilities


* Strategic Design – Contribute to the development of structured learning frameworks that support the firm’s growth, align with our values, and enhance professional capability at all levels.
* Team Support – Provide day to day guidance to the Learning & Development Trainers to ensure consistent delivery and assisting with the allocation of resources, priorities and expectations.
* Learning Needs Analysis – Liaise with stakeholders across the business to support with assessing training requirements, identifying capability gaps, and translate insights into effective learning solutions.
* Learning Pathways – In collaboration with subject matter experts, design and maintain clear, role-based learning journeys (e.g. onboarding, digital skills, management development) that support career progression and continuous learning.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Build trusted relationships with senior colleagues and subject matter experts to ensure learning interventions are business-aligned and learner-focused.
* Training Delivery – Deliver engaging, accessible, and practical training across a range of formats (virtual, in-person, and blended), tailored to the needs of diverse audiences.
* Technology & LMS – Support the ongoing development and use of the Learning Management System, ensuring resources are accessible and reporting tools are used effectively.
* Project Involvement – Provide learning input and support for firm-wide projects and change initiatives, including system launches, acquisitions and cross-functional programmes.
* External Partnerships – Liaise with external training providers and content developers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions where required.
* Inclusion & Accessibility – Ensure all learning materials and environments are inclusive, accessible and reflect the diversity and culture of the firm.
* Knowledge Sharing – Promote internal knowledge exchange, encourage peer learning, and contribute to a collaborative learning culture across all offices.
* Resource & Budget Planning – Support the leadership team in resource planning and budget tracking to ensure effective use of time and investment.


What you will bring to the role


This role is ideal for a confident, organised and personable learning and development professional with a passion for knowledge sharing, development and legal service excellence. With ability to unite and influence a national team with warmth, quality and care whilst remaining engaged and operational in a fast-paced, people-centred environment.


* Professional Experience – A strong background in learning and development, including experience delivering training across a range of formats and topics in a professional services or fast-paced setting.
* Learning Strategy – Experience shaping or contributing to learning frameworks and role-based development pathways that align with business goals.
* Content Creation – Proven ability to produce clear, well-structured, and visually engaging learning materials in a variety of formats (written, visual, digital).
* Delivery Confidence – Skilled in facilitating learning both online and in person, with the ability to engage learners at all levels.
* Technology Awareness – Proficient in Microsoft 365 (especially Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with Learning Management Systems and digital tools.
* Stakeholder Skills – Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
* Project Organisation – Excellent planning, prioritisation and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
* Team Contribution – A collaborative and supportive team member who contributes positively to shared goals and promotes best practice.
* Cultural Alignment – A clear understanding of how learning can support culture, inclusion and engagement, and the ability to embed these values into content and delivery.
* Mobility – A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to regional offices as required to support national learning initiatives.
