We are looking to onboard an experienced PMO / Engagement Lead to join a Portfolio Management team at a Tier 1 bank, within their CTO function in Sheffield. This is an initial 6 month contract (inside IR35), with strong potential for extension for up to 2 years or more. The bank's offices are in Sheffield and there is a hybrid model with 3 days per week required on-site. This is not a traditional process-driven PMO role. This position sits at the heart of CTO change governance, partnering directly with senior stakeholders to ensure portfolios are delivering against strategic commitments, identifying thematic risks, and providing high-quality executive insight. The team is expanding and this role offers strong visibility, long-term potential and exposure to senior technology leadership. The Role You will operate as the dedicated portfolio PMO for a CTO area, acting as the single point of contact between that area and the central PMO function. Key responsibilities include: Governing large-scale change portfolios within Technology Monitoring portfolio health, risks and issues Identifying thematic risks and escalating appropriately Ensuring adherence to portfolio frameworks and standards Supporting annual planning and resource supply/demand oversight Producing high-quality executive reporting Conducting ad-hoc deep dives and analytical reviews for leadership Presenting concise, insight-driven findings to senior stakeholders This is a proactive, high-pace role requiring strong judgement, structure and executive presence. Key Requirements Strong understanding of portfolio management frameworks and controls Proven experience within financial services (large bank experience highly advantageous) Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex organisations Ability to deliver executive-level analysis and recommendations Strong Excel and analytical capability Excellent presentation and communication skills Ability to work under pressure and deliver at pace A proactive mindset someone who solves problems, not just follows process Financial planning exposure (forecasting, variances, project accounting) is beneficial but not essential. Please note this role is located in Sheffield and part of the interview process will be conducted at the bank's offices in Sheffield, including a short case study exercise and presentation.
