Job Description:
Cera are recruiting Care Assistants for our Extra Care service in Okehampton. We are hiring for both part-time and full-time permanent positions, including days and nights. It offers secure work with good pay, excellent training, and no previous experience is required.
Are you kind? A people person? Love making a difference in people's lives? Then this could be the perfect role for you as a Carer, where you will genuinely make a difference every day! No experience required.
Extra Care units provide residents with self-contained living spaces within a larger building, with access to care staff based within the unit who provide care tailored to each resident. As a care assistant, you will support residents with varying needs, helping them live as independently as possible through personalized care and support plans.
Each client’s needs are unique. Your tasks may include assisting with housework, helping with morning routines, preparing meals, providing companionship, assisting with medication, or helping with washing and dressing. More than just a caregiver, you will become a friend, offering human company, encouragement, and perhaps a laugh or two, especially when life feels tough. While caring can be challenging, many families will be grateful for your support.
Our benefits include:
* Pay is structured in block shifts with no travel during shifts.
* Shift options include Days (7am-3pm), Evenings (3pm-10pm), and Nights (8pm-8am).
Additional benefits include:
* Enhanced bank holiday pay
* Holiday pay and pension scheme
* Free DBS check, company mobile phone, and uniform
* Access to our benefits & discounts platform WeCare, and eligibility for the Blue Light Card Scheme, offering discounts on shopping, dining, and family activities.
* Discounts on driving lessons, fuel, car insurance, maintenance, cycle hire, and more
* Enhanced maternity (12 weeks full pay), paternity, and parental leave policies
* Career development opportunities, including the Care Certificate and NVQs, with 50% of salaried roles filled internally

* Referral scheme Care Friends, earning £500 per successful referral.
