Food Service Staff - Variable Hour contract available - Progression to Full Time if desired We are seeking to recruit an experienced food service team member to join our restaurant department at The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast. The role is suited to individuals who can demonstrate previous experience within a food service role, commitment to full time working and a flexible working pattern is required. THE OPPORTUNITY You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring our guests have a positive dining experience. This role involves a variety of tasks including greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages in various services such as breakfast, afternoon tea, events, in room dining and private dining. Key Responsibilities: Guest Service: Welcome and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner. Present menus and provide knowledgeable information. Take accurate food and drink orders using POS systems. Ensure timely delivery of orders to guests. Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests. Handle feedback with a positive attitude and resolve issues to guest satisfaction. Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring proper presentation and temperature. Assist with the preparation beverages as needed. Restaurant Operations: Set up and clear tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area. Restock service areas with supplies such as utensils, napkins, and condiments. Assist with inventory management and notify supervisors of low stock levels. Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate service and address any issues promptly. Participate in team meetings and training sessions. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Experience of working in a similar role and/or environment would be a distinct advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members. Excellent attention to detail to ensure food items are prepared and displayed to the standard required. Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to work early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays as required. High standard of personal presentation. Passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
