Chronic Pain Specialist Physiotherapist

Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Band 7 Chronic Pain Specialist Physiotherapist to support the Adult Pain Service. The role is 22.50 hours per week, Monday - Friday rota.
As part of the established chronic pain team comprising specialist nurses, consultants, occupational therapists and psychologists, you will provide expert clinical intervention for patients referred from the Adult Pain Clinic. You will deliver physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of chronic pain patients, using a wide range of approaches. You will also have advanced knowledge of complex patients and be involved in CPD, supervision and career development.
Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical leadership and plan and organise patient management efficiently.
* Maintain clinical professional development (CPD) and incorporate new trends into practice.
* Establish priorities in own work area, balancing patient and professional demands in line with service goals.
* Ensure evidence‑based care standards are delivered in specialist area.
* Day‑to‑day management of designated staff, including supervision, recruitment, appraisal and professional development.
* Plan and organise resource use, equipment ordering, monitoring and safety training.
* Maintain accurate, comprehensive documentation and communicate results to multidisciplinary teams.
* Collect appropriate data and statistics to support department performance.
* Participate in staff appraisal scheme and personal development plans.
* Engage in clinical governance, risk management and evidence‑based practice projects, audits and outcome measures.
* Act as a clinical resource for colleagues, providing education, teaching and training on chronic pain management.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration.
* Evidence of relevant postgraduate clinical education and CPD.
* Active member of a relevant special interest group.
* Completion of Clinical Educators course.
Experience
* Significant experience at Band 6 level or above in relevant practice areas.
* Experience supervising qualified staff.
* Experience in service improvement activities.
* Experience at Band 7 level or above in relevant practice areas.
* Postgraduate experience in a variety of specialities and settings.
* Experience delivering training relevant to the area of practice.
* Experience in clinical audit.
* Member of CSP.

Remuneration
£49,387 to £56,515 a year (Pro Rata).
