SCTS operate from 51 distinct locations across six sheriffdoms, together with 13 remote video witness sites. Devolved tribunals make use of up to 70 further hearing venues. There are 39 sheriff and justice of the peace courts, the Office of the Public Guardian in Falkirk, and Tribunal administrative centres in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Hamilton. We are responsible for 28 listed buildings We are currently recruiting Administrative Officers to join our team at Kilmarnock Sheriff & JP Court. These are on a part time permanent basis. Role 1 - 17.5 hours - Monday to Wednesday Role 2 - 14 hours - Monday and Tuesday As an Administrative Officer, you’ll play a key part in the day‑to‑day running of the court, helping cases progress smoothly and ensuring court users receive a professional, reliable service. This is a varied, public‑facing role, where no two days are the same. You’ll be based in the court building and work closely with colleagues, members of the judiciary, legal professionals and the general public. Typical duties include: Providing a front‑line service at public counters and responding to enquiries by phone and email Preparing, processing and organising civil and criminal court papers Creating and updating records on internal computer systems Producing court documentation and preparing files for hearings Supporting court business before, during and after hearings Processing fine payments and carrying out related administrative work Who we’re looking for?
