Operations Manager – Workflow & Coordination (Cwmbran)
Working as part of the Operational Delivery Unit, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated colleague who will be responsible for the on shift coordination of remote clinical assessment functions across Wales.
Job Summary
The role leads 24/7 operational delivery of a defined area, collaborating with the Locality Manager and managing remote assessment teams during structural service change.
Responsibilities
* Provide 24/7 operational leadership of a defined area.
* Advise, support and develop staff within line management.
* Manage delivery of works, estates, security and housekeeping at the local site.
* Coordinate remote clinical assessment functions across Wales.
* Engage with stakeholders in Integrated Care and operational settings.
* Lead high‑performing teams and influence people to meet strategic objectives.
* Conduct investigations and produce report writing.
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
* Degree level of education or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Highly specialist knowledge of managing a contact centre.ILM Level 4 in Leadership and Management and willingness to undertake ILM 5.
* Experience managing capacity, demand and activity.
* Experience of budget management.
* Clinical qualification – Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
* Effective and sensitive communication skills.
* Organisational Operational Commander course completed within last 3 years.
* Capability to prioritise conflicting demands and work in unpredictable patterns.
* Visible leadership in challenging and stressful situations.
* Investigation and report‑writing skills.
* Continuous personal development in leadership and change management.
* Ability to adapt tactical actions into operational delivery.
* Adaptable communication to match audiences and situations.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Welsh language skills: levels 1‑5 in speaking, reading, writing and understanding.
* Experience presenting complex or sensitive information to internal and external groups.
* Experience persuading, influencing and negotiating with staff in time‑critical circumstances.
* Trust behaviours and values alignment.
