Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and related trades to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves working on-site with a focus on precision, safety, and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
* Measure and prepare window openings to ensure accurate fitting.
* Install new windows, ensuring proper alignment, sealing, and finishing.
* Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently.
* Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to carry out installation tasks.
* Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
* Assist with related tasks such as plastering, masonry, or construction painting as required.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes.
* Conduct quality checks on installed windows to ensure durability and performance.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in window fitting or related construction trades such as roofing, carpentry, or masonry.
* Knowledge of construction techniques including plumbing, welding, electrical work, and fabrication is advantageous.
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and schematics reading.
* Familiarity with construction painting and plastering is desirable.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
* Commitment to safety standards and procedures on-site.
* Previous experience working with construction materials such as masonry or roofing is beneficial but not essential.
