Service Manager – Division of Surgery, Cancer, and Children & Young People (CYP) – Band 7
Full‑time, 37.5 hrs/week, Substantive.
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled, committed and compassionate Service Manager. The post holder, working closely with the Operations Manager, will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care within their Service. The post holder will be expected to identify and implement initiatives to improve services, lead designated projects, and meet key performance targets (financial, operational and clinical).
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage patient pathways ensuring best use of available resources to provide efficient and effective delivery of all services in line with best practice, quality standards and national performance targets.
- Ensure all performance standards are met including national and local targets, access targets, and create plans to recover where performance is below plan.
- Investigate and respond to complaints and clinical/non‑clinical adverse incidents in line with Trust policies and timescales.
- Monitor the delivery of activity, raising concerns in a timely manner and identifying appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop and implement action plans for improvement wherever performance falls below expected standards.
- Ensure that regular capacity and demand reviews of service provision and organisation are conducted so that best value for money is achieved and access targets can be continually met.
