Mechanical Engineering is a field that combines physics, chemistry, and mathematics principles with materials science, to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering requires an understanding of core disciplines including mechanics, structural dynamics, rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid and aero dynamics, materials science and structural analysis. Mechanical Engineers leverage principles from these core sub-disciplines with computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product lifecycle management tools to create and analyze industrial equipment, or processes such as fluid transport, liquid/gas compression, combustion or heating and cooling systems.
You will work as part of a team to develop and support products within the Technology groups. Work is usually performed with the oversight of a more senior Engineer and within defined parameters. You will develop skills to make work decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
As a, you will be responsible for:
1. Delivering engineering and scientific efforts related to the design of new products and services and new designs for customer projects.
2. Delivering projects through the design, verification, production and, if required, commercialization stages.
3. Working within a cross-disciplinary organization executing projects to support technology portfolio strategy.
4. Coordinating closely with Discipline, Research, and Testing teams as needed.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
5. Have a HNC/D in Mech Engineering or equivalent.
6. Have knowledge of Aerospace standards, such as DO160.
7. Have experience of drafting and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
8. Have very good oral and written communication skills. Very good interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
