Job Duties
Norfolk Health District is seeking a Fiscal Technician. This position supports the organization’s financial operations by performing key fiscal and administrative tasks, with a focus on accounts payable, time and effort reporting, and compliance with funding requirements. This role ensures accurate financial processing, maintains fiscal records, assists in audits, and provides fiscal and administrative support to the Accountant Sr. to uphold financial integrity and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
• Working knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping standards, time and travel management.
• Working knowledge and ability to use accounting and/or similar batch type systems.
• Strong organizational, billing customer service, and data entry skills.
• Experience processing vouchers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe software.
• Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare, file, and reconcile financial data accurately while keeping information confidential and adapting to changes.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills to explain financial policies, fix issues, and work well with others.
Additional Considerations
• Working knowledge of the Commonwealth Accounting System (Cardinal).
• Knowledge of state accounting policies and procedures.
• Experience with various financial and accounting systems used in state and local government.
