Teaching Assistant - Wirral Secondary School
Location: WirralStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-time, Long-termSalary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils on a 1:1 basis with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and provide in classroom support.
This is a full-time position, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
The Role:
* Working 1:1 with a student with complex SEND needs.
* Supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
* Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques when required.
* Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to ensure consistent support and progress.
* Providing a calm, positive, and structured environment to promote learning.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school or SEND setting.
* Confident in managing challenging or complex behaviour effectively and empathetically.
* Demonstrates strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
* Is patient, resilient, and committed to making a difference.
* Holds a valid DBS (on the update service) or is willing to apply for one through Tradewind.
