We are seeking a Behaviour and Engagement Supervisor to join a secondary school in Stockport this September. This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in youth work, coaching, or mentoring to step into the world of education and play a key role in managing classrooms and supporting students' learning.
As a Behaviour and Engagement Supervisor, you will oversee pre-set lessons in the absence of a teacher and ensure that students stay on track with their learning. You'll help manage classroom behaviour, encourage student participation, and support pupils in their academic progress. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and contribute to a positive and productive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise classes across multiple subjects when teachers are absent
* Ensure students are following the work set and completing tasks to a high standard
* Manage classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques
* Provide support for students who may need extra guidance or encouragement
* Report back to teachers and senior leadership on any behavioural or academic concerns
* Ensure that students are following school policies and maintaining a respectful learning environment
Essential Requirements:
* Experience working with young people (e.g., in youth work, mentoring, or coaching capacity)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to manage classroom behaviour
* Ability to adapt quickly and work independently
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
