Interim Right to Buy and Leasehold Support Officer 6-Month Contract | £24 per hour | Hybrid (Manchester / Merseyside) We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join a public sector team as an Interim Right to Buy and Leasehold Support Officer on a 6-month contract, paying £24 per hour. Location: Based in the Manchester / Merseyside area. This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in the office and 3 days working from home. This is an excellent opportunity to provide key support within a Corporate Contracts and Assets environment, specifically within the Right to Buy and Leasehold service area. You will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Leasehold and Right to Buy Officer in processing applications, managing leasehold responsibilities, and ensuring a smooth client experience. Key Responsibilities: Manage and monitor the Right to Buy eligibility process in line with legislation and statutory deadlines. Prepare and issue S125 price notices, coordinating the timely return of necessary documents including valuations, boundary questionnaires, and EPCs. Conduct initial assessments of discount entitlement, gathering evidence and verifying supporting information. Provide management information regarding rent and sundry accounts for tenants purchasing their property. Assist in preparing service charge estimates and final accounts. Investigate and respond to queries about service charges, and prepare relevant reports. Liaise with applicants, internal departments, external agencies, and public authorities. Handle customer queries and manage potentially challenging conversations with sensitivity. Identify and follow audit/fraud procedures related to Right to Buy and Leasehold services. Perform general administrative duties including filing, record-keeping, mail handling, and plan/map provision. Assist in income recovery and handle payments in line with financial procedures. Essential Requirements: 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications/experience demonstrating strong literacy and numeracy. Proven administrative experience in an office setting. Experience in a frontline service role, handling enquiries from customers, the public, and external bodies. Competence in using IT systems, including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and email. Experience maintaining accurate manual and digital records, analysing data from multiple sources. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory capability to support junior administrative staff. A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understanding of general office and administrative procedures.
