We are now pleased to offer an exciting new Consultant Pharmacist progression post. The post holder will be a dynamic individual ready to provide expert leadership and knowledge, covering the 4 domains of:
* Clinical Practice
* Education
* Research
The post holder will be at the forefront of providing specialist pharmacy services optimising patient outcomes and improving the patient experience.
Main duties of the job
The role aims to create a highly specialised pharmacist with the opportunity to progress to consultant level. As an expert in the cardiovascular speciality, the post holder will provide a dynamic link between clinical practice and service development by creating new models for delivering patient care, ensuring the best experience and outcomes for patients from their medicines, whenever and wherever care is provided
Person specification
Experience/ Qualifications
* At least 5 years post registration experience in hospital pharmacy, including experience in a managerial role.
* Specialist knowledge of lipid lowering therapies acquired through working as a specialist pharmacist with patients with cardiovascular and lipid disorders.
* Experience of working independently in a lipid clinic and managing own cohort of patients, including PCSK9 inhibitor initiation and genetic counselling.
Skills
* Able to present complex information in a clear and understandable way, using appropriate media, to members of the public and staff/students with varying levels of clinical knowledge and experience.
* Able to provide medication-related information (proactively and reactively) to patients and staff in oral and written (including email) forms.
