Overview
A lady who resides in the west end of Aberdeen is looking for an experienced Support Worker. The lady has cerebral palsy and is non-verbal. She is a very happy person who loves her boy bands. She is looking for someone who is outgoing, bubbly, positive and flexible to provide support/transport on 1-1 outings. There is a day centre visit on a Thursday, which would require a 12.30 start. Following the day centre perhaps going for a coffee or spending some time with the lady in her own home. Whilst having your own transport would be advantageous, this is not essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1-1 support and transport for outings as part of daily support.
* Attend the day centre on Thursdays with a 12:30 start.
* After the day centre, activities may include going for a coffee or spending time with the lady in her own home.
* Learn and use the lady’s signs to communicate effectively and enable clearer communication.
Requirements
* Previous experience and the personality to suit the role.
* Willingness to learn the lady’s sign language in order to communicate more easily.
* Having your own transport is advantageous but not essential.
* Two references and a PVG disclosure will be required for a successful applicant.
