About The Data Engineer Role
In this key position, you will help shape our data engineering capability by providing both strategic and operational leadership. We will look to you to ensure that data is extracted efficiently from source systems, transformed through robust ETL/ELT processes and loaded into well-structured data models that support strategic reporting, analytics and Business Intelligence. To this end, you will develop scalable pipelines, improve data quality, design and implement effective data models and strengthen governance standards across the organisation.
Above all, we will look to you to maximise data maturity by applying innovative data engineering approaches, championing best practice and producing clear high quality technical documentation, demonstrating deep and broad data knowledge.
About You
To join us, you should be experienced in designing, building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, using orchestration tools such as SSIS and Azure Data Factory, and cleansing and manipulating datasets via SQL., You will also be adept at designing and implementing dimensional models including star schemas, and implementing Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 1 or 2) to support accurate historical reporting and analytics. You should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders. Finally, a formal data engineering certification would be beneficial, as would experience with BI reporting tools, CI/CD, automated testing or DataOps practices.
