Management Accountant
£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
Full-Time - Office-Based
Near Royston, Hertfordshire

We are currently seeking a Management Accountant to join a small, collaborative finance team based in Royston, Hertfordshire. This is a fully office-based role (5 days per week) and would suit someone who has gained well-rounded accounting experience within an SME environment and is comfortable being involved in the full accounting process up to trial balance level.

The finance team consists of the Finance Director and this position, so the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This position would suit someone who enjoys working within a small team environment where everyone supports each other and covers across responsibilities when needed.

Candidates should live within a commutable distance to Royston and be comfortable working in an office-based setting.

The Role
* End-to-end production of monthly management accounts, from transaction processing through to final reporting.
* Managing month-end processes, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
* Preparing and posting journals and maintaining accurate financial records.
* Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial integrity.
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
* Processing receipts and payments.
* Managing sales and purchase invoicing.
* Credit control, including chasing outstanding debts.
* Supporting multi-currency reconciliations.
* Producing various financial and operational reports, including Amazon and royalty reporting.
* Assisting with year-end processes, including preparation of audit files.
* Supporting the Finance Director with ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting and tasks.

Experience & Skills Required
* Previous management accounting experience is essential.
* Strong experience with month-end processes, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns.
* Experience working in an SME environment with broad accounting exposure.
* Comfortable preparing accounts up to trial balance level.
* Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a small team.
