IT Technical Product Manager – Volkswagen Group UK Ltd
We are recruiting for a Technical Product Manager on a full‑time permanent basis. The role reports into the Head of IT Service and Operations and focuses on owning the lifecycle of current components within the operational technology environment of Volkswagen Group UK.
Responsibilities
* Own the lifecycle of all current components, from introduction to retirement, ensuring strategic alignment with business needs, technical standards, and compliance requirements.
* Contribute to an infrastructure strategy that promotes standardisation, AG-and-cloud‑first principles, and the reduction of local on‑premises infrastructure.
* Lead the coordination and governance of external service providers to deliver lifecycle services, ensuring performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
* Ability to translate technology matters into business operations terms.
* Demonstrable experience driving continuous improvement plans to deliver service improvements and customer value.
* Ability to collaborate with global IT teams, local business units, and external partners.
* Experience managing third‑party service providers – contract negotiation, SLA/KPI tracking, and performance reviews.
* Strong strategic understanding with practical, agile execution.
* Strong understanding of Risk Management principles.
* Deep understanding of technology operations processes and challenges.
* Deep understanding of managing on‑premises infrastructure (servers, storage, networking) and integrating with cloud platforms in a hybrid model.
* Proficiency in infrastructure technologies including VMware, SAN, NAS, and Microsoft Exchange.
* Proficiency in configuration management, infrastructure operations, network infrastructure and Enterprise Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows, RHEL).
* Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring, automation, and orchestration tools to ensure operational efficiency and resilience.
* Experience in architectural or technology design and support roles.
* Experience driving or contributing to technology projects.
* Familiarity with ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management, ideally in a global or federated IT environment.
