Childcare Solicitor
A highly regarded Legal 500 law firm in Birmingham is seeking to recruit a Childcare Solicitor to join its well‑established and specialist family and care team. This opportunity is open to newly qualified solicitors through to those with up to 6 years’ PQE.
Location: Birmingham
Contract: Permanent, full‑time (flexible working available)
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of public law childcare matters, including:
* Care proceedings
* Supervision and placement orders
* Interim applications
* Advocacy (depending on experience)
* Working closely with clients, social workers, and other professionals

The level of responsibility will be tailored to your experience, with structured supervision and development support available at all levels.
The Ideal Candidate
o Experience in childcare/public law children work (or strong training seat exposure for NQs)
o Comfortable handling sensitive and emotionally complex cases
o Strong advocacy, communication, and organisational skills
o A genuine commitment to child welfare and public law work
