We are seeking an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our clients the Facilities Management and Real Estate team based in Broughton. In this role, you will help foster an inclusive, value-driven, and engaging work environment while upholding the highest safety standards.
What will you be doing?
As the EHS Manager, you will support the local FMRE team by ensuring effective risk controls are in place for both internal activities and those of service providers. You will oversee compliance with regulations related to the introduction and maintenance of new plant and equipment, and assess the safety management systems of potential contractors during the pre-qualification process. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections, maintaining formal records, and developing action plans. You will also provide expert EHS advice for strategic projects, including feasibility and design reviews, and ensure compliance with legal requirements such as the CDM Regulations 2015 and the Building Safety Act through audits and process implementation.
The role involves managing incident reporting and investigations, ensuring that corrective actions are taken. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of EHS requirements in facilities management, including construction and maintenance, and be well-versed in national workplace laws and regulations. Promoting EHS awareness across all levels of the organization, from senior leadership to shop floor staff, will be key, along with delivering safety reviews, KPI reporting, training, awareness campaigns, and inductions.
What are we looking for from you?
Candidates should hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification. You should have experience working with stakeholders on safety projects in dynamic environments, be skilled in risk assessment and auditing, and have relevant experience in facilities management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who can also work independently, with a practical understanding of health and safety standards and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Membership in a professional health and safety body such as IOSH is desirable
