About the role
The University has implemented the Estates Strategy and Masterplan 2024-2030, underpinned by the Decarbonisation Masterplan and the Infrastructure Masterplan. A refreshed Carbon Management Plan is due to be completed in the coming months. We are recruiting an experienced and professionally qualified Energy and Decarbonisation Manager to join the Estates and Campus Services team based in Preston. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, you will manage utilities contracts and data (monthly monitoring and forecasting of energy utilisation and budgets), lead on BMS optimisation and energy/carbon reduction projects, and lead other sustainability projects as directed by the Head of Sustainability.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day management of utilities contracts and data, including monthly monitoring and forecasting of energy utilisation and budgets.
* Collaborate with the Engineering & Maintenance team to lead BMS optimisation and energy/carbon reduction projects and initiatives.
* Lead on additional sustainability projects delegated by the Head of Sustainability.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in energy management or a related field, or professional qualification in environmental science/management, engineering, building and construction, surveying, or significant experience in energy management.
* Significant experience in a similar role within a large, complex organisation.
* Knowledge of statutory energy/carbon legislation and current best practice; experience in project management.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to motivate and engage across schools and departments.
