Position: Team Manager Team: Children in Care Contract: Locum Hours: 37 hours per week Pay Rate: £41.42 per hour Location: Lifford House, Birmingham Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office Sheldon Phillips are working with Birmingham Children’s Trust to recruit a Team Manager within their Children in Care Service. What You Can Expect: A stable, well-structured team environment with strong senior management support Hybrid working model – 2 days per week in the office Clear focus on permanence planning, stability, and achieving positive outcomes Access to reflective supervision and a collaborative team culture Duties and Responsibilities: Provide effective supervision and line management to a team of Social Workers Oversee casework to ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-centred practice Support care planning, pathway planning, and court proceedings as required Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and organisational policies Promote best practice and continuous improvement across the service Work closely with partner agencies to secure the best outcomes for children Requirements: SWE Registration Social Work qualification Post-qualified experience at Senior Practitioner or Team Manager level Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Proven ability to manage performance and drive high standards Experience within Looked After Children / Children in Care services If you are an experienced manager passionate about leading a team to deliver high-quality support for children and young people in care, we would love to hear from you.
