Position Overview Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Economist, located in our Aberdeen Office. Reporting to the Business Planning and Economics Manager, the Economist will work as part of a team of six, working collaboratively across the company providing key decision support on a key growth area for the business. Responsibilities Primary contact for collating inputs, building, running and reporting on full life-cycle probabilistic economics in-line with Ithaca’s Investment Manual. Providing challenge and insights on analysis – with an ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms across different levels of the organisation Facilitates multi-functional framing sessions to ensure key uncertainties are identified and modelled appropriately Regular written and verbal reports out to project team, Ithaca Leadership team, JV partners and external stakeholders, as necessary, communicating the relative worth of project alternatives and assisting in the preparation of material in support of asset recommendations and submissions Responsible for NSTA documents for operated assets: annual operators survey, SET templates, and other regulatory documentation Business plan co-ordination, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams to feed annual plan process, dealing with queries from both reserves and financial auditors thereon Works with Corporate Reserves co-ordinator as part of the annual reserves estimation process Drive continuous improvement and provides coaching to junior members in team and other departments across the business Qualifications & Experience Degree (in Finance/Economics/Accounting/Engineering) or equivalent professional qualification Strong, well established experience of upstream economics, including project framing within the UKCS Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint skills and ideally proficient in Quorum Planning Space, and decision analysis software Highly versed in project/investment appraisals, uncertainty analysis (including tornadoes, decisions trees and probabilistic analysis) Strong interpersonal skills, a self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and within a team We are committed to building a diverse organisation with a variety of backgrounds, skills and views.
