Freelance Project Manager – Social Housing Voids
Sheffield | £275–£350 per day (CIS / Ltd Company) | Start: within 4 weeks
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a social housing voids programme in Sheffield. Our management team is based in Tamworth, so we require a consultant PM on site to take full responsibility for delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day operations on a programme of void property refurbishments (kitchens, bathrooms, M&E, compliance works, decorating, general repairs).
* Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, and programme deadlines are achieved.
* Act as the main point of contact for the client (housing association / council) and ensure excellent tenant/customer care.
* Monitor progress against KPIs and produce weekly reports for senior management.
* Ensure all works are compliant with health & safety, building regs, and client specifications.
* Oversee handover of properties back to lettable standard within agreed timescales.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven track record as a Project Manager in social housing planned works / voids.
* Experience managing multiple trades (kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing, electrical, decorating).
* Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
* Good knowledge of health & safety compliance and void property standards.
* Ability to work independently with minimal head office support.
* SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred, plus full driving licence.
Rate & Terms
* £275–£350 per day (depending on experience).
* Freelance / CIS / Ltd company engagement.
* Initial contract: 6 months, with potential extension based on programme performance.
