Are you looking for your next opportunity as a Physiotherapist?
The chance has arisen for you to join our Adult Learning Disability Health Service (ALDHS) based in Bristol, North Somerset and/or South Gloucestershire. We are seeking a specialist physiotherapist to provide person‑centred assessment, rehabilitation, and management for people with long‑term complex disabilities and learning disabilities, including the promotion of health and prevention of secondary complications.
You will work and collaborate with our multidisciplinary specialist healthcare team with a goal of supporting and making a meaningful impact on our community. This includes providing specialist, evidence‑based Physiotherapy assessment and interventions to our service users and their carers/families/support networks.
Posture management and hydrotherapy skills are also highly valued with opportunities to develop these and other learning‑disability‑specific skills. We will offer excellent support with opportunities to work alongside a wide variety of professions and agencies.

Responsibilities
 * Undertake skilled and specialist assessment of service users to formulate individualized management and treatment plans using evidence‑based clinical reasoning skills and utilizing a wide range of treatment options including postural management and hydrotherapy.
 * Communicate effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team and case manage services users as appropriate.
 * Work with service users and their carers towards shared goals providing advice, education, training and assessing for and providing specialist equipment.
 * Encourage independence and enable service users and their carers to manage their condition.
 * Provide specialist support and advice to other services.
 * Devise and carry out specific exercise programmes and assess and prescribe 24‑hour postural management programmes.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
 * Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
 * Current HCPC Registration
 * In‑depth knowledge and experience of physiotherapy assessments and interventions
 * Prioritisation skills and the ability to manage, organise and delegate the physiotherapy caseload.
 * Able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and multi‑agency teams.
 * Able to interpret and explain a variety of routine and more complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
 * Evidence of ability to resolve varied problems using sound logic and decision‑making skills.
Desirable
 * Oxford Postural Management Training
 * Post‑graduate diploma or degree in professional discipline (or working towards one)
 * Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Association of Chartered Physiotherapists working with People with a Learning Disability (ACPPLD)
 * Experience working in the community with adults with Learning Disability with associated mental health needs and challenging behaviour
 * Experience of helping to develop team members and of seeking ways to improve services
 * Experienced and knowledgeable of professional and management practices within interdisciplinary and community settings

Salary & Benefits
Pay scheme: Agenda for Change
Band: Band 6
Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year (pro rata)
Benefits: NHS pension scheme, 27+ days annual leave, and participation in the Agenda for Change benefits package.
