Overview Senergy is an innovative company specialising in thermally conductive polymers. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual that can support the team in leading the development and commercialisation of a new range of high performance thermally conductive polymers. This role will involve management of R&D programs, the supplier base for it and develop commercially ready products. This is a hybrid role between the office and home based. Senergy is located in Carryduff, Co. Down, but projects will involve some travel to customer and supplier sites. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development and commercialisation of a new range of high performance thermally conductive polymers at Senergy Act as the subject matter expert in polymer materials development Establish links and liaise with sub-contract manufacturers, research organisations as well as industrial suppliers to achieve the technical development targets Work with the team at Senergy to provide relevant material information for the commercial exploitation of advancements in R&D Contribute to the development of future R&D plans and resource allocation. Manage funded R&D projects in thermally conductive polymers. Assist with relationship management of suppliers, partners and customers. This may include representing Senergy at site visits, public engagements, tradeshows and others Maintain safe work practices through risk assessments and implementing control measures for materials used. Qualifications / Experience Essential 5 years of experience of working with polymer materials or project management in an advanced materials setting (can include experience gained at University) A degree in mechanical, manufacturing, polymer, chemical engineering or similar Detailed knowledge of polymer processing, particularly injection moulding and extrusion Demonstrable knowledge of polymer compounding on an industrial scale Knowledge of polymer material additives, their interactions and impacts Project management experience Desirable Project management experience that demonstrates technical development as only one element in business function. Experience of product development within the automotive or heat exchanger industries Experience of materials testing methodologies, such as mechanical testing and thermal analysis Sound knowledge of business acumen and operations Proven ability to produce technical reports and disseminate complex information to non-technical staff Salary is commensurate with experience.
