A nurturing and forward-thinking SEN & SEMH school in Reading is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a full-time, long-term role working with children and young people who experience Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and various emotional and behavioural needs.
This Mental Health Assistant position is perfect for Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, Education, or Health & Social Care graduates, as well as anyone aspiring to work in therapeutic education or child mental health.

Salary: £89-£100 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pmAs a Mental Health Assistant, you will:
Support students 1:1 and in small groups with emotional regulation and coping strategies
Help create a calm and nurturing learning environment
Work alongside teachers, SEN specialists, and mental health practitioners
Assist students in building social skills, resilience, and confidence
Contribute to tailored behaviour and wellbeing plansThis Mental Health Assistant role provides exceptional hands-on experience for those pursuing careers in Psychology, Therapy, Youth Work, Education, or Social Care. You will develop practical skills in trauma-informed support, safeguarding, and behaviour intervention.
