The Role
To lead quality improvement initiatives utilising NES QI methodology on a range of service improvement initiatives within maternity and neonatal services. This role a perinatal role therefore is open to midwives and neonatal nurses. In addition, the post holder will facilitate the development of quality improvement initiatives from local and national safety recommendations including helping to progress the SPSP perinatal programme. The post holder will require a high level of motivational skills and extensive experience of influencing behaviour in often challenging and complex situations. Working collaboratively within the multi professional team both within maternity and neonatal services, the wider organisation and national perinatal services.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Midwife on Part 10 of the NMC Register or Registered Nurse Part 1 of the NMC Register
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
3. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
5. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
6. Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
7. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
8. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
9. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Effective time management skills
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
12. A driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
13. Evidence of further education/Continuous Professional Development in managerial or leadership
14. Current midwifery experience
15. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
16. Excellent communication skill both written and verbal.

This role will be based in Maternity Services within University Hospital Wishaw.
