As a Program Manager in RM Assessment, you will be working on a range of Programs and programmes valued at up to £25m and lasting anything between 6 months and 3 years.
The Program Manager works autonomously managing the team, with the ability to take crucial commercially considered decisions in regards to supporting Program leads. They will matrix manage Program teams of up to 30 people, pulling together business strategy and high level deliverables resource from across the business to achieve objectives and motivating Program Managers and teams teams to achieve combined deliverables. Working within the RM Assessment governance framework the role holder will ensure that Programs and Programs along with the delivery of major client deliverables are planned, tracked and managed effectively and efficiently. Financial management and control is a key part of the role.
Responsibilities
Working with our Senior leadership within the company, the Program Manager will manage and continue to build existing customer relationships whilst also effectively responding to new business requirements, shaping and scoping Programs of work to ensure new business wins. As a member of the RM Assessment operational team, the Program Manager may also lead major service incidents and manage significant customer issues when required.
There may be the need for international travel combined with flexible working patterns to meet our international customer needs.
It is critical that the Program Manager is commercially astute but also customer focussed with excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate and influence both internally and externally with senior business stakeholders up to and including CEO level within RM and also externally.
Responsibilities:
* Manage a collection of Programs up to £25m in value, either as part of multi-million pound contracts or on their own lasting anything between 6 months and 5 years.
* Matrix manage Program teams of up to 30 people, including Program Managers
* Manage to the contractual requirements and ensure Change Control is applied where requirements deviate from those specified in the contract
* Control, be accountable for, and report on costs across the program
* Escalate as appropriate to the Head Of Programs and the senior leadership team
* Ensure weekly reports are completed each week by Programs Mangers and for the overall Program
Experience
It is critical that the Program Manager is commercially astute but also customer focussed with excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate and influence both internally and externally with senior business stakeholders up to and including CEO level.
In addition they will have:
* Experience of managing large scale cross-functional software implementation programs and transformations.
* Formal Program Management Qualification Prince 2/PMI(Desirable)
* Exceptional financial management and control skills and experience.
* Completed ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation training (Desirable)
* Experience of working in an Agile environment
* Knowledge and experience of working in the full Software Delivery Life Cycle
* Experience working with senior decision makers within customer organisations
* A proven track record of defining, developing and managing Programs to time and budget.
* Experience in delivering operational change in existing business functions
* Strong communication skills – to effectively communicate relevant Program information to internal and external stakeholders with the ability to monitor and act on client and staff feedback and understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
* The ability to influence internal and external stakeholders of all levels, using flexibility of approach
* Demonstrable ability to motivate teams to work together in the most efficient manner. Offer advice and coaching to help them achieve targets, holding individuals to account as necessary.
* Diligence to ensure appropriate audit and compliance activities are in place i.e. ISO
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Expert user of MS Program and MS Excel
* Line management experience with the ability to demonstrate capacity planning and mentoring skillsets
