Are you an experienced support worker seeking a role in education? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism?
A friendly and unique Special School in Abingdon is seeking an Autism Support Worker to join their team full-time starting in September. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Support Worker or recent Graduate to gain further experience with Special Educational Needs.
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will collaborate with the class teacher to provide 1-2-1 support during lessons. You will build strong relationships with pupils, catering to their social and emotional needs, managing challenging behaviour, and ensuring engagement and focus in class. Your goal will be to create a classroom environment that is fun, safe, and stimulating.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and bubbly Autism Support Worker with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people. Recent graduates with relevant degrees in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology, and knowledge of neurodiversity are encouraged to apply. Experience working with Autism, whether professional or personal, is beneficial. Empathy and flexibility are essential skills.
