With our 2 homes now registered and open, we are looking for an experienced senior/Deputy manager to join our team, with the outlook of opening their very own home in the future.
Job Description
To assist the Registered Manager in ensuring that the Home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose. To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with Quality Standards, Children's Homes Regulations. Understand OFSTED inspection requirements, inclusive of the SCCIF. To assist in the establishing and maintenance of a competent, motivated, and confident Staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance, and support to Staff. To ensure that the Home's policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively.
To monitor systems for the efficient administration of the Home and to ensure that the fabric of the Home, equipment, appliances, and grounds are maintained to the highest order, in accordance with Health and Safety requirements. To liaise with Local Authorities, School, Health, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for Young People. To actively promote the Home's equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies. To ensure rota cover maintained to required standards at all times to ensure safeguarding for young people.
As a Deputy Manager you will be in a position that requires you to:
* Be creative and able to come up with solutions to help manage behaviours and guide staff in how to manage behaviours.
* Able to lead shifts with a confident and enthusiastic manner, ensure our young people are cared for to the highest standards, whilst being able to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed before completing your shift.
* Enable effective supervisions that promote best practices within the home whilst providing a supportive approach for our staff teams.
* Be able to have a lot of fun in the workplace but also be prepared to soothe and support the overwhelming emotions of both young people and staff teams.
* Be a good listener and curious about what you can learn from young people.
* Ensures Staff work within the Company's policies, procedures, and Ofsted Quality Standard requirements.
* Ability to plan and organise own workload and help others do the same to achieve improved outcomes for Young People.
* Carry out risk assessments and reviews of conflict resolution/debriefs at the end of each shift.
* Consistently reviews performance against Targets to assess gaps and amends plans accordingly to ensure Targets are achieved.
* Actively encourages positive staff morale and supports the team to reflect on the ups and downs from shift to shift and recognise that there are positives to be recognised and how their behaviours affect Young People.
* Ensure all Staff provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which Young People can feel secure and free from harm and maintain a safe environment, complying with Health and Safety and other legal requirements.
* Ensure that each Young Person has a plan and all relevant documentation and reports in their individual files, which reflect their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
* Address issues in relation to conduct and competence of Staff.
* Consistently has a positive manner in communication style and proactively identifies solutions and options, even in tough situations.
* Support Staff in their direct work with the Young Person(s) and ensure that this work is in collaboration with local authorities, therapy, and education, to enable effective integration of services.
Essential Requirements:
* At Least 2 years' experience in Residential Care within the last 5 years, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
* A clear DBS check (please let us know if you are on the update service or require a full DBS check)
* Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent
Desirable Requirements:
* Driving Licence
* Level 5 Management and Leadership qualification
