Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Retail Supervisor with a strong background in food retail and grocery operations to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth daily store operations, driving sales, maintaining high standards in merchandising, and overseeing stock management. The ideal candidate will have proven supervisory experience in a grocery or food retail environment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day store operations, ensuring smooth running of all departments.
* Manage inventory control including ordering, stock rotation, waste reduction, and accurate stock counts.
* Ensure effective merchandising and product presentation, maintaining compliance with brand and store standards.
* Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, identifying opportunities to maximize profitability
* Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and motivating staff to achieve performance targets.
* Maintain compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
* Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
* Assist with staff scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring
Requirements:
* Previous supervisory experience in a food retail/grocery environment 3 years.
* Strong knowledge of fresh food handling, stock control, and merchandising standards.
* Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and drive results.
* Proficiency in sales reporting and store performance analysis.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
* Post office training/experience - desirable but not essential
