Year 9 Science Teacher. Full Year Placement in Special School Some pupils need lessons that move at their pace, with clear structure and a steady presence at the front of the classroom. This Year 9 Science Teacher role is based in a special school in Coventry and runs for the rest of academic year from January. There is potential for the role to become permanent and the school will consider job shares for the right teachers. Responsibilities You will teach a small Year 9 Science group, adapting lessons so they are accessible for pupils with additional needs. You will plan and prepare resources, work closely with support staff, and help pupils feel settled through predictable routines. You will contribute to assessment and personalised learning strategies and play an active part in the SEND team. Creating a calm and safe classroom environment will be central to your work. Requirements We are looking for a teacher who brings clarity, patience, and a supportive style. You must have: QTS. ECTs with QTS are welcome and encouraged to apply. Ability to teach or cover Science at KS3 level. Experience supporting learners with SEND in any setting. Strong communication skills and a reflective approach to meeting pupil needs. Good organisation and willingness to adapt lesson content. Enhanced DBS which has been subscribed to the DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
