Property Management Officer (Responsive works)
Location: Edinburgh (or Glasgow) based, covering Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders
Salary: £38,838 to £41,739 per annum, plus car allowance (£4,048 per annum)

We currently have an opportunity for a Property Management Officer to join our team. Based in Glasgow, the Property Management Team provide a full maintenance service, across Scotland, to Bield's property portfolio; providing responsive maintenance works, planned maintenance works, emergency response cover, high quality technical support and design functions, efficient project management and effective and safe contractor management.

The Role
The role will have a responsibility in the Responsive Repairs, working to a portfolio of services in the Edinburgh and Scottish Borders areas.

You will be responsible for instructing and supervising works orders for a wide range of responsive maintenance and pro-active improvement works, ensuring works are carried out competently and within defined budget limits. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all works are carried out in compliance with contract specifications, current Health & Safety Legislation and that any site-specific issues are highlighted and taken into consideration, highlighting concerns to the Repairs Manager.

As part of your role, you will undertake regular structured visits to developments, liaising with local staff, tenants and owners, as required, to enhance landlord/customer relations and to ensure that they understand our Property Management works and procedures.

Role Requirements
The successful candidate will:

* bring to the role past work experience from within the construction industry and the ability to apply technical knowledge in practical way;
* have Membership of a building profession or trade;
* be educated to HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline or hold a time served trade certificate;
* have certified experience of building related continuous professional development e.g Gas Safety Awareness;
* A full and valid UK driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle insured for business use is also an essential requirement of the role.

With strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills you will be equally comfortable liaising with colleagues, contractors and our customers. Your previous work experience will include working with external stakeholders to organise and co-ordinate projects. You will have strong organisational skills to manage a busy and varied workload and will also possess the technical skills and competence required to use our repairs/asset management information system and MS Office applications effectively.

Following satisfactory completion of your induction period, you will be required to join our on-call rota (outside normal working hours), providing out of hours support in emergency situations.

We Offer
In return, the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, car allowance, company pension and 34 days holiday (pro-rated for part-time) with the option to buy or sell leave each year.

Hours of employment
are 35 hours per week (Full Time), Monday to Friday.
