Following the acquisition of Wood’s UK Transmission & Distribution business, the company has strengthened its capabilities in power engineering, construction and asset optimisation, supporting grid resilience and the transition to a low‑carbon energy system. The company partners with public and private clients to deliver safe, sustainable and future‑ready infrastructure across the UK.

UI Power T&D is seeking an established Planner to join the team. The Planner reports to the Lead Planner and works alongside an experienced delivery team. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and reporting project schedules, assisting in creating detailed schedules and maintaining planning control structures.

The Role

This position is ideal for an experienced planner from a major infrastructure or energy project background wishing to take on a new challenge and advance their career. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and familiarity with NEC frameworks are essential.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded, logically linked detailed project programmes in Primavera P6.
  • Monitor and control planning activities throughout all project stages.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction and third parties to maintain accurate programmes.
  • Prepare and distribute regular updates to project programmes and performance reports to support project delivery.
  • Work under NEC contracts, including conducting delay analysis, identifying project risks and managing change events.
  • Participate in schedule risk analysis as needed.

Expected

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent through vocational training/industry experience).
  • Established level of experience in a planning role.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and earned value analysis.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initiative and proactive problem‑solving.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Valid driving licence.
