Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Ayr, is currently looking to recruit x 2 Seasonal Chargehand Gardeners for as soon as possible until the end of September 2025 on a rate of £13.48/hour PAYE – working 7.30am-4pm Monday-Thursday in the open spaces team. These roles will be based in Ayr.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the team on a day-to-day basis
- Complete the necessary Paperwork on a daily basis
- General maintenance including grass cutting and ground maintenance
- Assisting higher graded gardeners under minimal supervision
- Following oral and written instructions
- Operation of ground care equipment – powered hand tools, ride on plant machinery including inspection, routine maintenance and cleaning
- Implement good Health & Safety Practices & Standards in the workplace
- To apply and adhere to policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, external policy and safe practices
- To carry out such other duties consistent with the post if and when required or instructed
- Carry out duties consistent with the post as may be required by your Line Manager.
Essential Skills:
- One role requires a driving license and trailer experience
- Substantiated ability to:
Complete relevant paperwork pertaining to the post
Work with limited supervision to Foreperson’s/Team Leader’s instructions to deliver quality standardsiii. Work as part of a small team
