Asan Electrical Technician, you’ll provide electrical support to the plant mainlyfocussed on planned and unplanned maintenance activities. You’ll also providesome support on modification and replacement projects.
Basedin Uddingston near Glasgow, Daldowie Treatment Works is one of the largestplants of its type in Europe. For over 20 years the plant has focussed oncreating wdf pellets from sewage sludge reducing environmental impacts as wellas creating a new fuel source replacing the need to burn fossil fuels.
AboutThe Role
Dayto day you’ll support the process by providing timely repairs to breakdowns andcarrying out planned maintenance activities. You’ll ensure that all work ismanaged and recorded correctly to maintain compliance, inspiring safe ways ofworking across the site, setting a high standard of engineering activity, andsupporting in rolling out new processes, systems, and ways of working to yourcolleagues on site.
You’llbe joining a tight knit, dedicated team based on site, who are also part of alarger group with a wide support network.
AboutYou
You’llneed to have experience in solving problems and being a strong communicator tobe able to persuade and influence others.
Youshould be educated to at least ONC level in Electrical Engineering and shouldhave served a recognised Apprenticeship.
Specifically,you’ll need plant experience in the maintenance, repair and installation ofelectrical equipment, including but not restricted to, 3 phase motors andassociated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers,motor control centres and 3 phase and single-phase distribution systems.
You’llbe able interpret schematic drawings and single line diagrams. You should havean understanding of PLC ladder logic as a fault-finding tool although wewouldn’t expect you to be able to produce or modify programs.
Ideally,you’ll also have process plant experience in the maintenance, repair,installation and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systemsincluding, but not restricted to, systems for the measurement of temperature,pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and ph.
Ifyou have a strong electrical background but are less experienced in control& instrumentation, we can provide on the job training to strengthen thoseskillsets to the required level.
