Test Centre Associate – York
Reed in Partnership is recruiting a Test Centre Associate to support the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) program in York. The role involves invigilation of driving theory and hazard perception tests, ensuring they are delivered safely, accurately and in full compliance with DVSA standards.
Responsibilities
* Invigilate driving theory and hazard perception exams, ensuring integrity and security of tests.
* Check candidate ID documents and record bookings in the system.
* Explain test procedures to candidates and address any queries.
* Supervise and support other staff during testing sessions.
* Review test schedules and perform daily opening and closing procedures.
* Ensure the test centre meets individual candidate needs in line with the Equality Act and company diversity policies.
* Report incidents that could impact candidate testing.
* Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the candidate experience.
Working Hours
* Flexible pattern – part‑time or occasional shifts with the possibility of additional hours.
* Typical operating days: 3–4 days per week, including regular evenings and Saturday shifts.
* Sample shift times:
o Morning: 8:30am – 1:00pm / 2:00pm
o Afternoon: 12:30pm – 5:30pm / 6:30pm
o Full day: 8:30am – 5:30pm / 6:30pm
o Evening: 4:30pm – 8:30pm / 9:30pm
o Afternoon & Evening: 12:00pm – 8:30pm / 9:30pm

* Full UK driving licence (driving not required at all locations).
