Role Overview
ROLE: Machinist
LOCATION: Stoke
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 35,000 – GBP 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a CNC Machinist, on a permanent basis, in the Stoke area.
Qualifications & Experience
* Time served Engineer (NVQ/ Apprenticeship/ City and Guilds qualification ideally)
* Ideally 2 years' experience or more in a similar engineering manufacturing / machine shop environment
* Experience of working with CNC, milling, turning or manual grinding
* Experience of working with Fusion360 programming or 5 axis machining would be desirable
* Be able to work with MS Office
* Good communication skills
* Have the ability to read/ interpret engineering drawings
* The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
* Must have a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 to C7G or NVQ Level 3
* CNC or manual grinding experience (must be universal or similar if manual) or CNC milling/turning with some grinding experience
Key Responsibilities
* Being responsible for the machining of one off engineering components
* Working to the right standards and specifications
* Interpreting engineering drawings
* Writing CNC machining programs (turning/ milling/ grinding)
* Helping to train apprentices or less experienced team members
* Assisting with other general manufacturing activities
* Helping to drive the company's Continuous Improvement program
* Maintaining high standards
