Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Belmont School – Rawtenstall, Lancashire BB4 6RX
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent – Term Time only
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

We aim to have a multidisciplinary clinical team at each site to provide vital provision in collaboration with our education teams. Creating an environment where pupils can flourish and grow in independence is key. We offer a £2000 training allowance for CPD once probation is completed.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs.
* Hold and manage a clinical caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician.
* Collaborate with the education team and other multidisciplinary professionals.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Maintain a person‑centred, empowering approach, respecting pupils’ dignity and involving them in decisions.
Qualifications – Essential Criteria
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree.
* Registered with the HCPC and the RCSLT.
* Relevant experience engaging and working with individuals presenting complex and diverse communication profiles.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice.
* Experience of multi‑disciplinary working in a range of settings.
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers.
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills across SaLT practice.
* Strong relational, analytical, judgmental and communication skills (oral and written).
* Good time‑management and organisational skills.
* Competency in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and formulation of support plans based on needs profiles.
* Awareness of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group.
Qualifications – Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that can impact communication strengths, differences, traits and needs.
* Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
