Recycling Plant Fitter / Mechanical Fitter Location: Neath Area Pay: From £15.00 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday - Friday, Days (7:00am - 5:00pm) Overtime: Available (Saturday when required - time and half) We are currently recruiting for a Recycling Plant Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established recycling and materials processing operation based in the Neath area. This is a hands-on mechanical role within a busy recycling environment. The setting can be dirty, dusty, and physically demanding, so candidates must be comfortable working in this type of industrial setting. Key Responsibilities Maintenance, servicing, and repair of recycling plant machinery Fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical problem solving Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems Maintenance of conveyor systems, gearboxes, bearings, and drives Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime Ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Plant Fitter / Maintenance Fitter Experience within a recycling, waste, quarrying, aggregates, or similar heavy industrial environment is highly desirable Strong transferable experience from other industrial sectors will be considered Good working knowledge of: Pneumatics Hydraulics Conveyor belts & rollers Gearboxes & mechanical drives Experience with PPM schedules and reactive maintenance Practical, hands-on approach Reliable and safety-conscious Welding or fabrication experience is advantageous but not essential.
