DEPARTMENT: BBC Radio Berkshire
LOCATION: Reading
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,280 - £26,960, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Radio Berkshire serves a diverse population of almost 1 million people in urban centres like Reading and Slough, historic Windsor and rural West Berkshire. We're looking for someone who's full of ideas and thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our production team.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* You'll help producers in preparing and outputting our four-hour programmes.
* You will support a multiplatform approach to our local content.
* The role has some technical responsibilities, including editing audio and dealing with live sources as the show is transmitted, as well as speaking to callers.
* You will be preparing content for our social media channels and BBC Sounds.
* As part of the production team, you will also come up with ideas for stories and treatments, set up guests, write scripts and provide research background.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team;
* Be able to come up with creative treatments to enable brilliant storytelling;
* Calm under pressure;
* Audio editing experience;
* An understanding of the BBC Radio Berkshire target audience;
* Experience of multiplatform working. Including how to make the most of our social media and digital opportunities.
