Join our team as our new Lead Veterinary Surgeon at Chester Vets for Pets
About us:
Chester is a well-known historical city in the Northwest of England, renowned for its Roman city walls and two-tier shopping streets. It offers the best of both worlds: a bustling city centre surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is also less than an hour from both Liverpool and Manchester. The practice itself is located on the outskirts of the city centre to the north and is easily accessible via local transport routes.
The practice is undergoing exciting changes, with new owners implementing fantastic improvements to push the practice to new heights.
The team currently comprises 7 vets, 5 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 3 receptionists, all led by our practice manager. Within the clinical team, we have a variety of interests, which would allow you to join the practice and gain a wealth of knowledge not available at other practices. Our caseload is varied, with a high proportion of insured pets and proactive clients.
As a team, we enjoy socialising outside of work, whether through sporting or charity events, dog walks, conquering escape rooms, or just drinks in the pub, which helps strengthen the togetherness of the team.
The Role:
We would like to welcome an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with our Practice Owners and be supported by our Head Vet and clinical team to deliver high-quality veterinary care to patients and our clients and mentoring junior vets to fulfil their potential within the practice.
Ideally, you would have experience in more complicated cases to support and have the knowledge to support our more junior members of the team. And as Lead Vet, you’ll share innovative ideas with the practice partners to enhance performance and care standards, daily flow of rota in addition to collaborating with the Practice Owners and Head Vet to drive the practice forward
What We Offer:
• Competitive Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum
• No Out of Hours (OOH): Focus on your work-life balance with no OOH requirements or Sundays
• Professional Development: Further study towards veterinary management courses or clinical qualifications will be funded and encouraged. Professional registration fees will also be fully funded.
Location: CH2 2EB
